Business Developer with Responsibility for System Management
We are Varberg Municipality, the employer that sees the possibilities in you. Here, you can make a difference, both for others and for yourself. We are driven by the idea of simplifying people's everyday lives and realizing their dreams. We do this with the help of knowledge, innovative courage, and a forward-looking spirit. Welcome to contribute to our work towards our vision - to become the creative hub of the west coast.
With a well-developed and transparent community building process, the City Planning Office plays a central role in shaping the future of Varberg. Our mission is to create sustainable living environments where the city's growth and the needs of its residents meet in the best possible way.
We are located in modern activity-based premises in the newly renovated city hall together with other community-building operations, which provides good opportunities for collaboration and exchange of experiences.
About 90 employees work with us, distributed across five departments - building permits, planning, geographical information, quality and development, and the municipality's land survey - all contributing to the development of Varberg for both today's and tomorrow's residents.
The Quality and Development Department consists of 13 people who coordinate, support, and drive the administration's quality and development work within finance, administration, communication, architecture, and IT. You will join a team that is driven, has a high ceiling, and works together to simplify people's everyday lives and inspire them to achieve their dreams. We are a team with many different professional competencies that collaborate and complement each other. We are now looking for a business developer with responsibility for system management to complement our group and contribute to our quality and development work. A role in the intersection between IT and operations where the focus is on stable system management, digital development, and effective working methods that create value for both employees and residents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work in the intersection between IT and operations with a focus on ensuring stable system management while driving digital development and improved working methods. The role combines operational responsibility with development work and close dialogue with operations, IT functions, and suppliers.
Your tasks will include:
- Managing and further developing mission-critical IT systems to ensure they are stable, secure, and fit for purpose.
- Collecting, analyzing, and documenting operational requirements and translating them into technical or process solutions.
- Driving improvement and change initiatives from needs analysis to implementation.
- Being the contact person between operations, the IT department, and external system suppliers.
- Monitoring deliveries, functionality, and quality in systems and services.
- Contributing to structure within information management, documentation, and IT security work.
- Supporting and training users to ensure effective system usage.
The role has a stable foundation in system management but also includes a clear element of business development and digitalization as the organization's needs change.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of the interaction between operations and IT and who thrives in a role where technology, structure, and operational benefit meet.
We see that you:
- Have experience in system management, operational IT work, or a similar role.
- Have the ability to analyze needs and translate them into practical solutions.
- Can communicate clearly and pedagogically with both technical and operational target groups. Work in a structured, independent, and solution-oriented manner.
- Have relevant education in IT or equivalent work experience. Have a general technical understanding of system operation, architecture, and IT security.
Meritorious:
- Experience in information management, data protection, or security-related work.
- Experience in change management or digitalization initiatives. Interest in AI, digitalization, and new technology. Interest in Linux, open source, or container-based environments.
